IMO Numbers or not, all ships over 300 gt must display their data (incl. IMO Number) by AIS. The IMO does state that AIS must provide information including: “Ship’s identity, type, position, course, speed, navigational status and other safety-related information.” But some owners of these superyachts do not like to publish their data for tracking. Nevertheless all ships over 300 gt must have a IMO Number, published or not. Regards Peter

As I understand it, MattyBoy, most yachts are not required by IMO conventions to have IMO numbers, but may request them if they above a certain size and seagoing.

Hi MattyBoy, I no superyacht fanatic, but when I search for IMO numbers for these big white beasts on google I normally type into Google the name then Motor Yacht (For yours I typed in NIKO III motor yacht) then hey presto 'normally' superyachttimes.com comes up on the first page !!!

Maybe I have been on a lucky run with it but its just a little bit of advice to you and to others who read this comment !
