of course,,that,s the whole point. It is from every corner suggested that without internet one can not keep contact with families/friends even to the point that sailing in general becomes a burden for crews without it. I ask often crews which run around with a sour face (identifies that the last 12 hrs no e-mail or no Facebook) if they ever come on the idea and sit down and write a postcard or a real letter. You look into blank eyes !! I use also e-mail (no facebook) but still send from a lot ports postcards and for birthdays a real mail. Peoples falling out of the sky when they receive a letter.
A letter makes it personal, one takes time to do it, the personal effort counts. Quote: I didn,t hear from you,, ohh I send you an e-mail not too long ago , unquote
