WELCOME TO SHIPSPOTTING.COM
Description:
There was a brief period during the eighties that major oil companies thought that coal would be the energy source of the future. Shell invested in new bulkcarriers, while BP decided to charter ships, such as the Belcargo, shown here in the Caland Canal. It is probably one of the very few non tankers that sports the BP logo on the funnel. I don't know how long the charter period was, but I think this might be a rare shot.
