Lovely colour photo - one of the oldest shipping lines in the world at the time. The colours look spot on given the age of the photo.

Excellent Ken, just going through some of my old sighting in the hope of identifying some of them when one led me here. She was the AEGIS SAVE No1 which I saw sailing past Tilbury in 1971 still wearing her Brocklebank funnel colours, possibly on her way to the breakers being as she was scrapped in early 1972. No photo unfortunately :-(

Best regards

Bob

Great stuff Ken, what a ship. Built before I was born! I do remember her in the late sixties however, seen in Tilbury dock. couldn't beleive my luck. No camera then of course pleased to see her again

Hi Ken,
what a nice surpise !
One of my absolute favourite ships of the famous Brooklebank Line.
And a excellent photo for this age. It could be, that the photo is older than me (year 57).

Gerolf

Hi Gerolf,
It is nice to have a surprise, I am glad that you liked the photo, regarding age I would think that it was taken in 1953 and the slide has preserved very well so you haven't beaten it, close though. Thank you for your comment.
Regards Ken
