Description:

10-03-06 - her present location - a floating restaurant called "Tugboat on the Bay" - sorry the pool building obscured the bow - but this is the best elevated view.. a bit of history - this tug was originally the "Aucklander" Aucklanders should have realized that the name "Aucklander" would be removed just as fast as possible on arrival in Wellington but to give her some
obscure maori name and butcher her to the extent that nobody could recognize her......just not on. All her bridge gear telegraphs etc were stolen not
long after her arrival in the "capital" and were recovered at a later date - the wheel was made into a table and can be seen in the bar...

Bob

Isn't her 'name' actually 'Tapuhi II'?

In my opinion, she is only a pale caricature of her former self - the Auckland Harbour Board tug 'Aucklander', which in service was a really magnificent-looking vessel that always looked as though it meant Business !!
