Grey ships, on a grey sea, under a grey sky at the Clyde Submarine Base, Faslane waiting to participate in 'Exercise Joint Warrior' which will be held off the western and northern coasts of Scotland from Monday 31 March 2014.

In the foreground are:
F358 - the Danish Thetis class frigate 'TRITON';
P840 - the Netherlands off shore patrol vessel 'HNLMS HOLLAND'; and,
P842 - the Netherlands off shore patrol vessel 'HNLMS FRIESLAND'.

In the background are two US 'Ticonderoga' class cruisers,
CG72 - USS VELLA GULF; and
CG55 - USS LEYTE GULF, plus
the guided missile destroyer
DDG67 - USS COLE.

My guess is that hostile forces are unlikely to invade Scotland in this coming week.
