Description:

MARIANE DANIELSEN ran aground, with crew of 12, at the evening of 20 January 1989, when leaving the port of Grindavík, Iceland. 8 crewmembers were rescued by coastguard helicopter but 4 with the breeches buoy rescue device, operated by the local rescue team. This picture is taken the following day.
The incident was caused by human failure.
At 7 April 1989 a salvage company managed to refload the vessel and tow her to Denmark (at least it was the plan).
