I appreciate the complement. Although I have seen ships renamed during shipyard modifications, this is the first time since 1971 that I caught an active ship changing names during a port call.
The Crowley tug was ADMIRAL. She had originally been named CAPTAIN, but pilots are also often called Captain in radio conversations and the name caused some confusion. It's not the first time someone got a promotion for causing confusion.
