Hi Alastair, thanks for your comments. I don't know the name of the ship in the background but I am sure it was one of the 'Salenrederierna' company ships from Sweden. If I come accross it in my slide collection I will let you know. I have slides of the Tongariro and Taupo in the same colour scheme as the Westmorland so I will post them on the web as soon as I scan them. Cheers....Bill Burton...Hobart.

Nice picture William, any idea what the ship in the background is? Westmorland was built in 1966 and owned by the Federal Steam Navigation Co. Ltd. She was unique amongs't their fleet in having an emerald green hull with dark green boot-topping. Their normal hull colours were Black, red boot-topping with a white line. She was 11,011 Tons Gross, Length 528ft, Breadth 71ft. She was powered by a single marine diesel engine giving a service speed of 20 knots. Nice looking ship.
