Thanks, Maripaul, for your comment. Actually you are right, the place in the left corner of the picture looked like this http://www.shipspotting.com/gallery/photo.php?lid=1560130#

Was there in 1995 and they have really cleaned the place up. In 1995 the place looked like a war zone after losing a battle. Vessels run ashore. Submarines partially disassembled, newest facility was a church. A $10 donation to an old beggar lady was enough to feed her family for a month.

Good Picture, Maksim!
From the left to right on the picture:
Ship demolition zone used many years for scrapping vessels as fishery and navy.
Also now you can see floating crane for assist to breakers to cut off one former trawler type Laukuva (Petrazovodsk built) and one trawler type Zhelezniy potok . Near last vessel berthed fishing support reefer type Raduzhniy. She is not for scarp, may be using this place to idle time.
The used metal from this place loaded to trucks and transported to the port for export.
Further follow auxiliary navy fleet pier.
Grey hull – Vytegra, Home port Murmansk, build in Yaroslavl in 70-s.
Black hull is Pechora, Romanian build vessel.
And another one is KIL(probably KIL-31) this vessel used for mounting/dismounting mooring anchors and were built in East Germany.
