Mayamar Marine Enterprises of Piraeus had operated the 22,000 dwt tanker FINIX between 1989 and 1991. She is seen at Singapore in March 1989.

Built at Rijeka in 1965 as RIEKA for the U.S.S.R., FINIX was sold early in 1991 to Compagnie Monegasque Maritime (COMOMAR) of Monaco. Renamed SEATIGER, she almost immediately ran aground near Cape Passero with a cargo of fuel oil loaded at Bizerta for Piraeus. Refloated on about 1st March, her cargo was transhipped at Messina into another tanker and she sailed on 10th June for breaking at Aliaga, Turkey.
