FAQ on Triple-E
http://www.worldslargestship.com/about/faq/
They says daily fuel cons. about 100 mt. It should be on eco mode. Otherwise I don't believe. My last 8100 TEU (not so high tech, of course) consumed 155-180 mt on 23 kts.

I believe that Triple-E on eco mode produces significantly less CO2 etc. than the others VLCS/ULCS. At least one of EEE letter states foe Environmental Friendly. Of course they run some software as Energy Efficiency tool, summary of which may be posted on their web site. Something like for japanese MOL: http://www.mol.co.jp/csr-e/environment/burden/index.html#anc01
Just for approximation Triple-E on full speed consume (about) 200 mt of fuel dayly, while such bulker (maybe) 30 mt. Then the CO2 etc. emission may be imagined.

I would be interested to know the amount of amount of CO2, SO2 and NOX emissions produced by the two ships and to compare this. The Maersk ship has many environmental features to reduce emissions, eg, twin engines as oppose to a prop with a large surface area that could crack. The diesel engines are driven at a lower design speed than most container ships, reducing fuel consumption by 37 per cent. But ultimatly, the Triple E is so much bigger, so will probably us more fuel. Does anyone have data to compare between the two ships in this respect?

It's funny but if you think, those two ship's are driven by, about the same size guys.
This photo testifies about what awesome things human mankind can make besides weapons, wars, and other bad stuff for all of us

Why a bad one? You don't know which one of these Triple-E's brought you, say, a toaster from China anyway. :D
And my port is so small to even handle that bulker - they usually stop some 15 km away from me...

))) Sietas is still big.
Here in Nakhodka a lot of small ships. So, at perfect moment we can get what is called Russian Dall. )

Now I only need an typical ~135m Sietas feeder placed before that bulker & this would be a perfect comparison for me! :D

For long time I failed to explain my wife that Triple-E are the largest ships of nowdays. When I showed her few of them at Nakhodka, it was really hard to feel for uninitiated, how big are these ships. This photo I've taken to show my wife and others interested what is the difference in size with the ships of ordinary size. It's easy to realize from photo's aspect.
