Hi Maripaul - as you say, it's a long way to the bridge. Maybe they'll flood the whole ship down so the pilot doesn't have as far to go. He might even be able to step off the launch onto the bridge.

Most probably has a elevator

Very easy vessel for the Pilot to get aboard, but then a long hike up to the bridge.
