Triple E No. 9 vs. Arnold Maersk (IMO 9260433). I remember two years ago, the latter had a word "giant" attached to it. Things had obviously changed since, by an order of magnitude... :)

Great comparison Vlad, amazing the size difference.

Peter/Vlad, Maersk often use small Danish towns etc that mean something to the company as home ports for their owned ships, e.g Maersk McKinney Moller is registerd in Hellrup which was the birthplace of the great man himself.

Andrew

Thanks for the info, Peter!
I've noticed this peculiar trend with small home ports with previous Triple E vessels...

Yes, Vlad!
I even have my own dilettante project of 26000 TEU for 2025 :) I hope the Earth will be able to accommodate these monsters.

Yes, Ruslan, even now there are vessels under construction with higher nominal TEU intake, like CSCL's 19.000 TEU vessels, but they are not really bigger than Triple E's... But, like you said, in 10 years - who knows? I doubt that the ships will get smaller: we are looking at the new Asia-Europe liner standard, 18.000+ TEU...

Hi, Vlad!
Nice shot to compare the sizes! Very appropriate remark regarding Arnold's ex-giant status. Who knows, may be in other 10 years there will be Quadruple-E Maersk :) even bigger, to overcome Triple-E.
