Hi Jadran ,yes you placed too many questions and I am sorry to say that I don't have an answer to any of them save that the crane for sure is a container crane and not an ore unloader as no ore is unloaded or loaded in Malta.,maybe that crane was one of the older ones used for smaller vessels and now the trend is for larger vessels ,it cannot be used with these modern mammoths.

Hello Emmanuel,
I recognize from this photo that the seen container crane loaded onboard the Zen Hua 25 is of a rather heavy construction & of quite a low height of the boom from the sea level,, looks more like an ORE UNLOADER !???

Where is that crane now going from Malta ?
Will it be substituted with a new crane of the NEW GENERATION capable of loading/unloading containerships of DWT 160-180,000 tons (abt) ?
For how long time (years) has the crane that is seen on this photo been on its position & in service at Malta ?

I do hope that I didn't place too many questions for you !
Brgds (J)

Hi Shaun ,I was very lucky to get these series of photos of this heavy lift vessel, as Marsaxlokk isn't my usual haunt,bt as I knew that she was loading the container crane ,I ventured there in the afternoon as the mornings are not ideal as the sun is practically in the camera lens.I was very fortunate the take these photos of her sailing with the open sea as a background as with the Freeport cranes in the background the subject in question is not very conspicuous.
