the SANTA ROSA was originally built for the Northwestern Pacific Railroad for passenger service on San Francisco Bay, she was sold in 1940 to the Puget Sound Navigation Company, rebuilt to a single-ender and renamed ENETAI. Eventually passed to Washington State Ferries, she was retired in 1967. In 1968 she was sold to a buyer in California, given her old name, and left sitting around San Francisco Bay until purchased by her current owners in 1989 and restored.
