I like the photograph and this P&O version of the ROYAL PRINCESS class looks an improvement to the original ships... Sad livery...

I agree 100% with Mr. Clive Harvey, the new P&O livery is very unfortunate to say the least and it adds the ships a feel of cheap greek cruise ventures, the funnel livery and logo is a copy of the small greek ships ARKADIA and AehEAN SPIRIT ex ENRICO COSTA. If P&O wants to give away one of the best cruise ship classic images, they should revert to the original black funnels and buff uperworks... In about 1970 they made a short lived livery change and added the P&O houseflag to the buff funnel of SPIRIT of LONDON and created a similar feature on a blue base for the cargo fleet. This new colour is dreadfull and very low market...

The final unit of the Royal Princess class is really taking shape! I really do not like any of the class, but this is by far the worst, with her horrible hull art featuring the United Kingdom flag, and stupid twin funnels!

Balticventure, Bermuda is one of the "Red Ensign Group" Category 1. Ships registered in Hamilton are permitted to fly either the plain Red Ensign or the defaced Bermudian Ensign. P & O, Cunard and Princess ships are all permitted to fly an un-defaced Red Ensign while visiting foreign ports, including UK ports. - It is legal for them to do so. The "Red Ensign Group" is comprised of the United Kingdom, Crown Dependencies (Isle of Man, Guernsey and Jersey) and UK Overseas Territories (Anguilla, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, Montserrat, St Helena and the Turks & Caicos Islands) which operate shipping registers.

It's a very different P&O vessel that will atempt to rule the waves! mrdot.

Super shot of this new cruise ship Vlad, I don't think her design is as ugly as some of the new cruise ships being built, certainly look fwd to seeing her arrive in Southampton.

I don't mind the colors (that many may object), but leaving but a tiny forecastle, just like many of her new cruise ships "colleagues", is more of a problem...

I agree the funnels should have been left buff,as for the flag well what happens if scotland goes, its going to look a little sad to say the least. One question if P&O are registered in Hamilton how come they fly a clean red duster along with Cunard? Both companys as we knew them have long gone. They are both just a name, might as well call then Blue Funnel Cruises and base them in Liverpool for me.

..... except that crass, hard, aggressive and wrong are just your choice. Some others, living in the same visual age, no doubt would choose a different set of adjectives - or even nuance them a little.

Whilst this is not my style of ship at all I cannot help but feel a sense of disappointment that P&O are poised to cover her bow and part of her hull with a crass version of the union flag. Those funnels would have looked so much better in the usual P&O buff, blue is not a good funnel colour at all and this shade is a very hard and aggressive shade.
I know that I'm often criticising the various liveries of cruise ships but we live in a very visual age, so there should be no excuse for getting it wrong.
