This vessel would be used fishing for squid, which is done at night. The lights are on booms which are folded out either side of the ship to attract the squid, which are caught on lines with 'jigger' lures. I think the reels for the lines are under the green covers. This one looks clean, but some squid boats get black stained hulls from the ink !

To my eyes (have never been in Singapore, or Far East) I cant imagine what kind of fishing gear this vessel is using. Perhaps they fish in the night with much lights on? On each side abt 13 "arrangements", perhaps lowering down as platform(?) for the fishermen. Perhaps they fisk "small" tuna????? Anyone knows/can tell me?
