Description:

- literally flying back to Bridgeport,CT,3-27-06. I wasnt able to catch her completely airborne, but every other wave or so she would not even be touching the water. These fast boats have become somewhat of a staple on waterfront US cities. I have seen similar models in Rochester, Buffalo, New Bedford, and Providence also.

I just spotted a Providence police boat yesterday over near the Providence tugs, must be a new boat because Ive never seen it before. Its the same exact model as the USCG 255079 coast guard boat that Tom caught in New York except without the guns.

This particular boat was built at derecktor shipyards right in Bridgeport. I'm not sure about the other cities you mentioned but in general aluminum hull, twin outboards has been the way that most police departments have been going. In Boston the current "hot" boat to have is the SAFe boat (Secure All-Around Floatation Equipped) If you've ever seen a USCG 25 footer, with the orange wraparound hull and aluminum superstructure you know what I'm talking about. After the CG got them in Boston, BPD Harbormaster, Mass State Police and Mass Environmental police went out bought several. Cool boats, but they wreck your knees with all the up and down wave skipping.
