the sound passes Copenhagen
on one side (Denmark) and Malmo (Sweden) on the other side. The passage is draft restricted and to my knowledge pilot compulsory. Usually bigger ships take the big belt under the new big belt bridge

"The Sound" is Öresund between Denmark and Sweden.

Good point Brent, just as to those few of us on the US west coast, "The Sound" implies the Puget Sound, but I'm sure that's not where this vessel was.

Very nice shot Tom, but where is "The Sound" somwhere around UK I guess but for someone downunder not a well known geographical label here.
