Yes David, I have seen these items in the local papers and on TV. But it seems that this scheme has not been accepted whole heartedly by the general public as we already have a problem with these illegal immigrants in our over populated small island nation, space is at a premium here. Now that the unrest in Libya and Palestine and Syria has continued ,the number of these poor people attempting the crossing from North Africa to Europe has risen colossally especially during the relative calm seas of spring and summer. Our resources in finances, aircraft and sea rescue craft are stretched to the limit.

Looks as if they set off for initial mission - initially rescuing Maltese fishermen - and then a group of migrants.

The vessel has now been renamed PHOENIX and registered in Belize. It seems that the M.O.A.S project is in difficulties. Is the mythological phoenix returning to her bed of ashes instead of flying high?
