Hi Jadran, I think that there must be more awareness, more education on the subject you have mentioned. Prevention is a whole lot better than cure. It must be prevented from a much earlier age. EVERYONE must be made aware of the danger, especially kids, and not glorify it through adverts, films etc.

Hi Emmanuel,, ref. your Description: HEAVY SMOKER
I can only wonder,, did she ever hear for the COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease illness ..... as a consequence of heavy smoking) !? lol (again)

Hi, Denis, she was only emitting that much smoke for a couple of seconds, she was just turning to starboard prior to berthing, but in the preceding photos she was already smoking just a bit. Had she persisted for much more time her captain or owners would have been given a hefty fine.

It has been a long time since I have seen a vessel emitting this much smoke in harbour Mr.DOT,way back in the sixties it wasn't that rare, the culprits were mostly tankers in the d0ckyard undergoing refit cleaning boilers.

Let us hope not Jadran. Blue skies and equally blue sea is a must for the tourist industry, and in Malta ,tourism plays an important part in the nation income.

I would like to see that ship coming to some exotic/tropical island just to smoke like that!
