Description:
Originally built for the US Bureau of Fisheries as a fisheries enforcement vessel for use in Alaskan waters. She continued in service with the Fish and Wildlife Service upon its creation in 1940, until transferred to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game in 1960. Later that same year she was sold into private ownership for $12,000. Over the next several years she changed hands multiple times and wore several different names. In 1971 she was purchased for $25,000 and restored at a reported cost of $300,000. In 1975 her original name was restored and she was then used for fishing for many years. After being purchased in 2003 for $159,000 the vessel was restored for a second time, and since has spent her time offering cruises in Southeast Alaska and serving as a tender to gillnet boats. Her near-sisters from the BOF TEAL and PELICAN also continue to survive in private ownership.
Seen moored at Squalicum Harbor on Bellingham Bay.
