Csaba, the answer to your query is quite simple,, that salt from Tunisia is used for shoveling/sprinkling onto the roads against ice during winter/snow time :-)

During each year winter time period ships make in total some 6-8 trips loaded with salt from Tunisia and unloaded at port of Bakar nearby Rijeka.
That kind of salt is of low quality (and cheap) i.e. it is non-purified and rather granulated, and is not used in any case as an additive to food !
I also sometimes ask myself, if that salt that is shipped to Rijeka is maybe also utilized in some other Central European countries e.g. Hungary, ...............

All the best wishes to you Csaba for 2015

Hi Jadran, you took along time to put this pic on the site, nearly a year since you took the photo. How come ? Best wishes for the New Year 2015.

Yes, that's a nice one, Jadran.

Back in 2008 she got in front of my camera when she was still sailing as Mingo, and at that time she had a sister called Mango.
Would have loved to see them together once:-)

All the best for 2015 (only a bit more than 6 hours to go)

Thank you David very much for your kind comment !
I as an "oldie" naval architect can utterly agree with you, that this small general cargo ship has noticeable elegant/flowing lines of her hull and also has an overall pleasing design that is pleasant for the eyes.
Kind regards and ALL THE BEST WISHES FOR 2015

Hi Jadran, thank you for sharing this beautiful photo with us!
I'm a big fan of the ship's design, very graceful I think, and when I had a look at the year of building, I was amazed to see she's already 34 years old.
In Hamburg, you're hardly ever able to spot ships like her, but I had the intention that they're more common in the Adria & Med yet. I hope we'll see her again the next years...
Best Regards & a happy new year,
David
