I guess Joerg meant "commissioned" not "condemned", as she only entered service in 1999, so she was 14 when she was scrapped...

Bulkers lives a literally very stressful life, especially if often carrying very dense material such as iron ore. Heavy loads concentrated on small areas strains the hull and few survives beyond 20 years of operational life. Several has broken in half in heavy weather and some just gone missing. Looking though the pictures she seems to have periods of less than stellar maintenance too. Joerg mentions that she has been condemned that indicates structural problems, but it might be for other reasons.
