Really sums up the changes at Bluff, 32 years ago when I first arrived the Manaar was at No.5, the largest ship to have used the berth together with her sister Matra, they were 16275/20026 GRT/DWT, New Giant which is getting on, built 1996 is 27116/45525, though their length is virtually the same, 186 m for Manaar and 190 m, for the New Giant.



Who could have predicted this in December 1960, when the Island Harbour reclamation was completed.



Also with the first full house in 1962, the total tonnage with approx 9 ships, was 65,000, the New Giant plus the Gearbulk to the right and the Amyntor out of sight is substantially more.
