Hi Ted,

35-45 crew members !!! So, that's around 30 less jobs all in the name of progress. Wait until vessels arrive on the scene that are crewless/driverless (Google cars abound!!)

ADRIAN MAERSK was never renamed ALBERT MAERSK. The complex exchanges of aft (or fore-)parts caused some confusion. ADRIAN's (7361180)ex-aft part was used for ALBERT (7361192). Lloyds R defined the "new" ship as
per the identity of the aft part, the Danish Ship Register - and Maersk - the identity of the front part was kept as the identiy of the "new" ship. Niels

The Maersk A-ships had a crew of 24/25. Accomodation to 40. ADRIAN was extended in 1978 (26,100 dw to 30,042) and extensively rebuilt in 1984: cut into two pieces, new midship-section, new aft part from AXEL MAERSK with a new engine, and a garage with an angled ramp. After this the ship was transferred to the Far East-Persian Golf tradelane. Niels

Just reading about the Triple E's, only need 19 crew. This ship still in service, well parts of her are, wonder how many would recognise her:

Matty, the triple E have rather small crews compared with the size, but if you take the width/height ration, not much smaller by space. Such ships built in the 70,s had easy 35-45 sailors as crew.
