Hi Douglas,
you have to go early in the morning. I was there at about 9.00 o clock in the morning. Have a look on Franks photo, He was there a bit later. I used my alround Nikon Lens 28 to 300, but you do not need the telefunction for the shot.

By the way I will be at Istanbul in middle of june as well.

Hi Gerolf,
A great photograph !
Can I ask, what time of day you took this great shot and what length might you use ? I have just the ship location on Google maps, and might try to see here on my next visit to Istanbul.
