Indeed, one of the rare shots taken rom that bridge. It's not possible any more. I must have only about 50 shots from there. I had quite a few more before I sold several thousands slides to my friend Marc Piché, a contributor to this site.

Good job Rene. Some corrections. Karpidas name was Kostandinos. His daughter is Panagiota.Presently Konkar owns one overage handymax, the KONKAR GEORGIOS. The MRs belong to another company "PYXIS". The undersigned attanded the construction of the KONKAR RESOLUTE and served as Chief Officer and Captain. Best regards. John Kokkinos-Fondrier

The ex Konkar Resolute was owned by Konkar Shipping Agencies, Athens, Greece. A co-owned company between the families of Theodore KONstantopoulos and Panagiotis KARpidas, thence the KONKAR prefix. On about 1987 the two families separated their interests and split into two, Konkar for the Konstantopoulos family and Pankar for the Karpidas family. Konkar still going very strong with a fleet of n/b ultramax bulk carriers built in Japan and a fleet of MR product tankers.
