Ships under Construction | | Description: | | This is the first recognizable view of GD NASSCO Hull 551 as seen from outside the yard. She is a tanker, being built for American Petroleum Tankers, associated with Crowley Maritime. She and her sisters will be built in NASSCO's two graving docks, while the container ships are being built on their two launch ways. The gap in hull numbers is due to NASSCO's system of leaving unused numbers for potential optional vessels on existing contracts. |
