Description:

BARDOMAR (Singapore) - September 1982 - Photographed while she was sailing upbound in the Welland Canal in ballast as she was approaching lock 2 in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada.. Original Kodachrome slide by Capt. Charles Tully..

IMO 7412551 - She was built in Onishi, Japan in 1976 as BARDOMAR. Renamed ALLAN BOY in 1985, EASTERN TRADER in 1988 then finally WEISSHORN in 1989..

On 27 February 1994 she was at anchor at the mouth of the Guadalquivir River in the Gulf of Cadiz waiting her turn to proceed inland to Seville, Spain following a voyage from Bangkok, Thailand. During bad weather her anchor chain broke and she drifted aground where she was later declared a constructive total loss.. She was never salvaged and the wreck remains there to this day..
