Pictured here when she was part of the Reserve Fleet, painted with Maritime Administration stripes on her funnel. She is now preserved as a museum ship at Tampa, Florida; one of three Victory Ships that have been preserved in the U.S. (the others being Red Oak Victory at Oakland, California and Lane Victory at San Pedro, California). This was one of a total of 534 Victory Ships that were completed during WW-II. I had the privilege of sailing on two of them and I can attest that they were excellent ships, far superior to the the earlier and more-famous Liberty Ships.
