Description:

Annapolis in the St. Lawrence Seaway. In 1984, she served as escort to the royal yacht Britannia on her visit to the Great Lakes.
Built in 1964 at Halifax by Halifax Shipyards Ltd.

Nice design indeed. Bearing the names of canadian RIVERS, 20 variants were built. The anchors, chain cables and the windlass were located inside the rounded bow. The rounded deck edges, facilitate de-icing at sea (North-Atlantic) and nuclear fallout decontamination.

Destroyers in the RCN of the 1960-80s were called the 'Cadillacs of the Navy' because of their yatch-like design.

She has?had fine yacht like line,,look at her anchor stowage , such a shame to sink her , but at least she will not be scrapped and somehow she will still spend more years as at least a diving site.
