PS-2:
I used a Brownie camera (that was a very simple & cheap, 1 mode "automatic" camera with an utmost boxy body) as a youngster in 1960s,, I still have it !!!

Yeah ... yeah, Emanuel, you mean, with those two "Brownie cameras", doing shipspotting & shooting photos straight ahead of the ship's bow ! xD :-)

Maybe the crew (together with the Captain as main photographer) should join Shipspotting membership; this is only a proposal (if I would be serious; but now it's Friday evening and > time for having some fun hahaha )
Cheers (J)

PS
Washing machines, cameras ........ could somebody possibly add this wording:
"This is a good photo, maybe !"

lol

Hey who said these are washing machines, I am ashamed that all these photographers have not recognized the new Brownie Box cameras in new style of colour especially manufactured in digital mode.
my,my and all of you call yourself photographers?

Two washing machines on the foredeck? Exactly! Both for color wash. Left side (in direction of travel) for red cotton socks, right side (in direction of travel) for green shirts of the galley crew. Drying on a rope from the top of the foremast to the bowpeak. :-)
Regards Peter

It is quite clear that the white washing machines are there for equilibrium! -;)

Hahaha that's a very good your comparison David ( the two white containers seen at the ship's sides being compared with WASHING MACHINES ).
I well recall, that one time (maybe 2 years ago) Captain Ted and I have discussed for what purpose are used those white containers with round (some also spherical) glass covers at their front side ....... up till today I still don't know their exact purpose !!!
Maybe somebody knows .................

Thank you for your nice & interesting comment, David !
Greetings from Rijeka
