Description:
Barge THEA III (ENI 05109540) (in tow of tug HOHEWISCH (ENI 05105980)) carrying what I suppose is a counterweight (in fact it's a stability pontoon - see the comment below) either for heavy lift vessel Trina (IMO 9376505) or her sister Regine (IMO 9393242), both under construction by Sietas shipyard at the time of the photo (which I took on November 13, 2008, from Rüschpark at Hamburg-Finkenwerder).

The pontoon will be used to increase the vessel stability. Heeling of the vessel will be just regulated by the ballast tanks.
