C3-S-A2 type cargo ship, originally launched in 1942 but taken over by the U.S. Navy and commissioned as the Attack Transport USS Bolivar (APA-34). As such, the ship took part in the invasions of Kwajalein, Saipan, Guam, Leyte, Luzon, Iwo Jima and Okinawa. Following WW-II the ship returned to commercial service as Thailand Bear, President Harding, President Van Beuren and, finally, Santa Monica. She is shown here as she appeared with her last operator, Prudential Lines, during which time she was named Santa Monica. The ship was apparently scrapped in 1973.
