Rostock registered coaster MILTZOW, at Goole docks,East Yorkshire on 31/8/90.The MILTZOW was sold to Motaku Shipping Agencies in Mombassa, Kenya,sometime after I took this photograph.In October 2005 whilst chartered by the World Food Agency to deliver supplies to Somalia,it became one of three ships to be hijacked by pirates. The MILTZOW,now reg.St.Vincent/Grenadines, was unloading 850 tons of maize,beans and veg.oil at the port of Merka,some 50 miles from Mogadishu. She had a crew of 10,all Kenyan,who were all unharmed.
