BANDEIRANTE II ex-FOGÁS XVI ex-MARINA THOLSTRUP.
300gt 40m
built 1966 A/S Svendborg Skibsvaerft, Svendborg (Yd 119)
Converted from hull of lpg tanker which suffered explosion damage 17/9/1988 at Cintra, nr Humaitá AM, on River Madeira while transhipping butane to river tanker FOGÁS I.
1997 hit rock and sank - later refloated
Subsequently converted to passenger/cargo river vessel as BANDEIRANTE II for Beira Mar Transporte e Comércio Ltda, Manaus.
2012 sold to Flávio da C F Oliveira-me, Manaus and continued on route between Manaus and Tabatinga (next to Yavari, Peru and Leticia, Colombia - and considered the major point of entry in Brazil for cocaine)
3/2013 263kg of cocaine found on board and crew members arrested. I suppose that is when she was withdrawn from use and laid up at Manaus.
