This boat was originally an U.S. Coast Guard 44ft Motor Lifeboat, which was transferred to the Guyana via the Foreign Military Sales program in 2001 together with three other boats of the same class.

They were the following boats:
USCG 44361 re named CGS Barracuda
USCG 44369 re named Swordfish
USCG 44399 renamed Stingray
USCG 44400 renamed Tiger Shark

The Barracuda still has the same name, so this boat is one of the other three boats.
