Wreck of Coaster "Marie"
Built in 1927 in Veeendam (Netherlands), load capacity of 50 tons.

Used to carry wheat from Cuxhaven Altenbruch to Hamburg and coal from Hamburg to Cuxhaven Altenbruch
On Sunday, march 25th 1945 Marie ran into a sea mine close to Krautsand and sank, killing Kapitän Gustafson.
The Wreck was raised many years later and exhibited at the Cuxhaven Wreck museum. Since 2013 it is on display in the Altenbruch Harbor, close to the lighthouse "Dicke Berta".
The "Marie" was the last cargo ship that traveled the river "Braakstrom" into the center of Altenbruch.
