Recently renamed from EVIE W., the EASTERN VENTURE sailed from Montreal on 17th April 1968 bound for New York. As EVIE W., soon after arriving at Rotterdam from Port Sudan in September 1967, she suffered a fire in her cargo; she arrived at Montreal on 21st November 1967 from Hanko, Finland. From New York she made her way to Constantza, Romania, sailing from there in July 1968 for Karachi. She then proceeded to Canton (Guangzhou) via Singapore from where she sailed on 16th September and was broken up there on arrival.

Built as the tanker Albert J. Berres and managed by Union Oil Co., of California. In 1948 she was converted to dry cargo in Savannah and in 1955 she was lengthened in Kobe and supposedly converted into a bulk ore carrier but as additional ventilators have been fitted for the new hold it seems she was still a general cargo ship.

Shes almost original, but no environmental rules in that times.
