The "saltie" Spar Ruby is downbound on the St. Clair River in Sarnia, Ontario on April 29, 2006. The vessel has just left Lake Huron and is enroute to Lake Erie and the Welland Canal and eventually back to sea, having visited the interior of North America.

Wow great pic of one of my favorite lakes visiting vessels. for some reason her, kolguev and goldeneye remind me of the post seaway size 'handy max' vessels. looks like she was hauling cement earlier

Magogman,

Saw the Spar Ruby last year in the St. Lawrence a couple of times. Looks like she has lost a lot of paint on her hull since last summer. Spotted her sister ships the Jade and the Opal last summer also. Waiting for the Spar Garnet to get the four of a kind. It's fun to see other shots of the ships that we see on the River. Thanks.
