Trim and beautiful kept fishing vessel moored in Valletta harbour.no further info. Ex-British Admiralty MFV, built during WW2.

Hi Sydney ,it would be interesting to know what has became of her since her delivery to Malta. I don't know of any ex-MFV still in existence. Thanks and rears.

No problem with not having any information on her. The skipper/owner that i was talking to was the one who delivered her to Malta.

Thanks Sydney for this info, sorry cannot help you and her last skipper of what happened to her, bear in mind ,this photo was taken in 1985, that is 30 years ago.maybe some member cold help . Thanks and regards.

John West was the skipper/owner when she first came to Shetland,there was no connection with John West the fish company.Have been speaking to last skipper off her in Shetland and he is keen to find out what became of her.

Tanks aholtham, by any chance do you know who John West was? Maybe someone well known in the fishing industry as there is a company known by this name who also packs fish etc and are very popular .??? regards

Re the WELFARE thanks for the info ,Bjorn and Sydney, and sorry Sydney, I don't know how long she spent in Malta, that was 30 years ago,maybe some members will enlighten us more of her subsequent history and fate. regards.

No they dont,but same hull with new wheelhouse and fiberglass whale back fitted.Just type in Welfare LK 511 and you will find a photo of her just before she left for Malta.

She was built as an a admiralty MFV during the second world war and spent time in Shetland as the John West and Welfare LK 511.This photo must have been taken shortly after she arrived in Malta.Any idea how long she spent in Malta.
