|Seen being delivered to Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, Washington by the tug USNS SIOUX, with MANHATTAN and SKENANDOA assisting, to undergo the Ship/Submarine Recycling Program.
The decision to scrap the vessel was made after estimates for her repair nearly doubled, which would result in cutbacks to the operations of other US Navy vessels. She had been severely damaged in a fire set by a shipyard employee while undergoing a refit at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in 2012.
