Description:

RETHI MÜLLER (Owner Otto A. Müller, Hamburg; nickname "Kohlen-Müller") stranded on 5th of November 1967 at Penmaenmawr nearby the old quarry gravel loading quay. The "Rethi Muller" was a 1.000 ton German ship, built by Kremer Sohn in Elmshorn (GER). On the morning of 5th November 1967 she was driven ashore in a storm at Penmaenmawr (North-Wales) beach. Crew saved by helicopter. Later the vessel was refloated (18.11.1967) by excavating a canal into water. Only little damages occured at the bottom of the ships hull. Photo published with permission of Mrs. Emma Morgan, Penmaenmawr. Thanks to Tonya O´Donnell and Matthew Taylor.
