In my opinion Mr.DOT, the TOLETELA and her sister were a whole lot better looking vessels than most of the the cruise liners of today, maybe being built in Spain speaks a lot for them. Were they also a Spanish design?Regards.

Well Jadran, I never imagined that the TOLETELA and her sister offered such service and with a black bowtie steward. Wow, you really got the 1st class treatment.Regards

I sailed one overnight voyage with TOLETELA as a passenger on December 17,1997 from Malta to Tripoli, Libya.
Libya was still under the international embargo at that time, therefore any airplane connections between Libya and the rest of the World were not available.

TOLETELA was a very nice & comfortable ferry still in the time of 90s, and I was very pleasantly surprised with the standard & service provided onboard this ferry on which I have traveled as a passenger in 1st class.
I and my colleague were the only passengers traveling in the 1st class, and I think for sure, that the crowd of numerous Libyan passengers, traveling in the Tourist class, didn't have such convenience & privilege onboard as my colleague and I have had (the cabin was with ceiling-to-floor "panorama" windows, fully arranged with huge bouquets of flowers and dinner/breakfast were served in the cabin by a steward, who you could almost call a "butler", top-classy dressed including a black bowtie).

And to conclude: TOLETELA is remaining to be my favourite ferry till today !

Regards (J)
