Operated at time of this photo by Scheepvaart Maatschappij Trans-Oceaan, an associate company of NASM - Holland-Amerika Lijn.
Built: 1951 by NV Wilton-Fijenoord, Schiedam, Netherlands. Yard no. 732.
Propulsion: Two General Electric steam turbines of 8,500shp (total). Speed: 17 knots
Originally laid down as a passenger/cargo ship for Holland-Amerika Lijn with the intended name of DINTELDIJK but plans changed to build it as a passenger ship with the name RYNDAM.
Renamed WATERMAN for Trans-Oceaan cruise programme of 1967/1968 before reverting to name RYNDAM later in 1968.
1971-sold to World Wide Cruise, Panama, (Epirotiki Lines, Piraeus, Greece). and rebuilt into cruise ship ATLAS (Greek flag).
1988-sold to Pride Cruise Lines, Nassau, Bahamas to become casino ship PRIDE OF MISSISSIPPI (Bahamas flag)
1991-renamed PRIDE OF GALVESTON.
1993-became moored casino COPA CASINO in Gulfport, USA.
2002-laid up in Mobile awaiting sale to breakers.
2003-sold to Indian breakers but sank under tow off Dominican Republic 16th March.
