This is ex-Sakipia (A-329), sometimes seen in publications as Sakipis. She was built as LST-50 and converted by the USN into ARB-13 before being transferred to Norway as Ellida (A-534). She was returned to the USN in July 1960 and re-transferred to Greece in September 1960. According to Jane's, she was retired by the Greek Navy in 1977, so she must have just hung around as a hulk for 16 years. That merchant type twin bow boom derrick was the stand out feature that I haven't seen on any other LST conversion. The similar Turkish ships scrapped in 1993 didn't have that feature.
