Yes Steve, the AURELIA was a truly beautiful ship built way back in 1939 and only broken up after a severe fire damaged her in 1997, she could have survived a few more years sailing the high seas. Regards.

We oldtimers ,Mr.DOt ,enjoy delving into the past with a certain nostalgia .In those days ships looked different from the vessels of today, they were, I dare say more beautiful, a feeling which I am sure you will second.Thanks and regards.

In a way ,I have a certain link with this vessel as my dear friend and his family emigrated to Australia on this ship. Charles Vella practically grew up together since kindergarten days and whilst I passed the Dockyard apprentice test and commenced my apprenticeship, he unfortunately failed to do so and consequently had to emigrate with his family in the early sixties along with thousands of others. regards.
