Technically one could argue it either way - it's long been so for this type of multi-purpose dry cargo vessel. LR and IHS-Fairplay probably have "bulk carrier" as ship type, on the basis of her strengthening for heavy cargos; class GL don't seem to use either term, settling for "Multi-Purpose Dry Cargo Ship".

And then UBC themselves call them bulk carriers
